Whoever approves such courses to be taught at university is to blame for the plight of these graduates and the resultant unemployment. Our young people go to university thinking that they are going to learn something that will have demand because it is taught at the university.

Real estate management programmes belong to colleges, and not universities. In developed countries, those programmes are conducted at diploma level in colleges. There are even certificate courses that can qualify one to work as a real estate management employee.

You will not find such courses taught at the university level. The same applies to most hotel management courses. In Rwanda, we even have ‘a fully-fledged hotel university’ that offers programmes that are done at college level in developed countries.

There is need for the government to review the work of the institution responsible for university programmes.
