RE: "Meet Buhura, the kindergarten teacher advocating for eloquence in Kinyarwanda” (The New Times, April 20). Bravo madame, and thank you for showing us the right direction to follow in the effort to empower the next generation.

However, I am puzzled after realizing that there are no experts around to perfect our survival tool, the tool with which you painstakingly are equipping our future generations.

Revisiting our history since the last 70-80 years, our survival tool has been relatively badly dented through successive foreign invasions: Dutch, Kiswahili, French, English, etc. That is a fact, a language is a living tool, it adapts to time and to various circumstances depending on the survival needs of the moment.
