News that Kigali City will use solar energy for lighting instead of the traditional street lamps, which use grid power, is timely.
With this project, the hydro power street lights have been consuming will be diverted to factories.

The project will also save manufacturers from running expensive diesel generators because of the unreliable hydro power.

Solar energy has proved to be efficient and durable for industries, homes and street lighting.
