Sunday was like any other day for Francois Nsabimana. He visited his local bar for a drink but after his sixth beer, he hit a jackpot. Under the crown of his 7th beer, he found a picture of a brand new double cabin pickup.
Nsabimana, a resident of Gitikinyoni in Kigali, won one of the grand prizes in the Primus Babongere Promotion.
On Monday, the 30-year-old father of three walked away with a 2016 Mitsibishi LX3000 double-cabin pickup, worth Rwf33 million, amidst jubilation and ululations from his peers.
"The minute I realised I was the lucky winner of the vehicle, I was overjoyed. I started jumping up and down, I could not even eat. My friends had to calm me down. This is a dream come true.”
The vehicle will help me expand my business and enable me to support my family,” he said with a beaming smile.
Narrating how it all happened, Nsabimana said that, on Sunday ,while in a local bar in his home area of Gitikinyoni, on the outskirts of the city, he joined his friends to enjoy their usual drink. He said that Primus has always been his beer of choice.
When they opened his 7th beer, he checked under the crown and noticed he had won the double cabin pickup, which, along with a house, are the grand prizes in the promotion.
According to Yvette Ntagozera, the Primus Brand Manager, Nsabimana will be officially given the car during the opening ceremony of the Primus Guma Guma Super Star competition.
Freddy Nyangezi, who is in charge of Corporate Affairs at Bralirwa, urged the public to continue trying their luck with Primus beer, by checking under the crown since there are still many more prizes to be won.
"While this can be seen as a marketing promotion, the purpose of the campaign is to impact the lives of Rwandans by economically empowering them,” Nyangezi said.
Lucky Primus beer consumers over the weekend won several prizes in different outlets across Kigali.
The promotion continues with a house still up for grabs.
