FIFA manager in charge of Football Facilities and Income Generation Programmes, Daniel Krebs is in Rwanda for a three-day visit—while in the country, he will hold talks Rwanda Football Federation leadership in relation to the funding and management of the FERWAFA Hotel.

Krebs is responsible for income generation which includes funding and capacity building support of member associations in implementing commercially-oriented projects so as to enable them to consolidate their financial sustainability and football development.

On Tuesday, Krebs met FERWAFA leadership led by president Vincent Nzamwita and other executive C=committee members where they held discussions on the funding of the on-going construction of the FERWAFA hotel which is partially funded by FIFA through the FIFA Forward Programme.

Along with FERWAFA officials, Krebs held discussions with officials from the Chinese company, CCECC Rwanda Ltd which is mandated to construct the hotel and Century Real Estate, one of the leading Hotel Management companies in Rwanda.

He will conclude his visit on Wednesday (today) after holding a meeting with the officials from the Ministry of Sports and Culture.

FIFA is financing 65% of the total cost of the construction of Rwf3.85 billion FERWAFA Hotel as FERWAFA searches for an additional financial support which is hoped to be raised from other local banking partners.

Upon completion, the hotel is expected to ease on the cost that the Ministry of Sports and Culture (MINISPOC) is incurring on national teams during residential camps or accommodation for visiting national teams.

FERWAFA is also expected to use the hotel for commercial purposes to generate income for different footballing activities.

The FERWAFA hotel is part of the FIFA development programme, FIFA Forward aimed at helping developing countries to establish infrastructure and facilities to boost the growth of the game as well as creating long lasting and sustainable income generation activities.
