Kenyan soul jazz artiste Mayonde Masya will headline this month’s edition of the Kigali Jazz Junction at the Kigali Serena Hotel.

This will be the second edition of Season III of the monthly jazz gathering.

The event takes place on March 31.

Mayonde is known for such songs as Kama kawaida, Rise, Angels, Find Us A Way, Nairobi, and Isikuti love. She becomes the second Kenyan musician to perform at the Kigali Jazz Junction. Last month, the event was headlined by Kenyan saxophonist Christine Kamau.

Although she has performed in Kigali before, it was at much smaller gigs and this will be her biggest stage so far. One of her most recent performances was at the all-white party, Diner en Blanc, in July last year.

She will perform alongside Rwandan artiste Patrick Nyamitari and the Neptunez Band. The Kigali Jazz Junction is organised by RG Consult. The concert will run from 8p.m till midnight.
