RE: "French Cuisine 2017” (The New Times, March 12).

Good and clear assessment of the current France – and by extension Western – politics. And I like and support your call in the last paragraph: "Now that the colonial West is inwardly crumbling down and the East remains still so alien, at last left alone, young Africans have no other avenue opened to them but sit on the drawing board and design our continental economical-cultural-political future”.

It is time that the three-century old colonial "practice” of division with the purpose to reign and exploit the continent ends – it should no longer be followed by us as acolytes.
