Forty-two films have been shortlisted for the annual Mashariki African Film Festival (MAAFF). They were selected from 75 films and will compete for prizes in the third edition of the annual event, which will take place at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV) from March 25 -31.
Forty-two films have been shortlisted for the annual Mashariki African Film Festival (MAAFF). They were selected from 75 films and will compete for prizes in the third edition of the annual event, which will take place at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV) from March 25 -31. The event will be held under the theme My Story, My Passion, My Journey.According Aaron Niyomwungeri, the coordinator, the festival will not only build confidence of local filmmakers to challenge foreign filmmakers’ projects but is also a golden opportunity to learn a lot from their skills, which can help them make more film projects that can compete at other international festivals.
The nominated films are from different African countries as well as Canada and America.The screening venues for the films include Goethe Institute (Kiyovu), Iriba Center (City Center), and Impact Hub (Kiyovu). The films will be screened under two categories: Competition and Panorama.
