The 26-year old star joined the Kenyan football league giants during the December-January transfer window and played a major role in the league opener helping Gor Mahia to dominate in the middle of the park.
Mugireneza’s compatriot and club teammate striker Jacques Tuyisenge was also on target as Gor Mahia sealed a 3-1 win in their opening Kenyan Premier League match against Kariobangi Sharks at the Thika Municipal Stadium.
"When you have a player like him with strong personality and good quality, he makes the difference on the field. He did it against Sharks today. I am happy for him, I am also happy with the rest of the squad and how they performed, Brazilian tactician and Gor Mahia coach Ze Maria told Kenya’s Futaa.com.
He said the Rwandan midfielder has strong and good quality.
Mugiranzeza joined Gor Mahia after parting company with Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC in December last year after an 18-month spell.
Before joining the Tanzanian side, Mugiraneza won six league titles, seven Peace Cup trophies and two CECAFA Kagame Cup titles (2007 and 2010) with Rwandan giants APR FC.
