This was driven by huge returns recorded by the Bank of Kigali counter on Wednesday and Thursday, the RSE weekly report indicates.
The lender pushed over 2.2 million shares worth about Rwf533.85 million in turnover on Thursday, following Rwf321.57 million recorded on Wednesday. Over 1.32 of the bank shares exchanged hands on Wednesday at Rwf245.
Crystal Telecom, the other active counter on both days registered Rwf8.7 million in turnover on Wednesday and a marginal Rwf54,000 the following day. The firm closed at Rwf90. On Tuesday, the exchange registered Rwf176,000 in turnover from 2,000 shares. Over 3,634,500 shares changed hands during the past week compared to 576,900 shares sold for the week ending March 3. The bourse was flat on Monday and Friday, with no transactions recorded. During the week, the bond market pushed Rwf53.3 million worth of bonds at between Rwf100 and Rwf103.1.
