Under fire APR’s Dutch coach Rene Feller’s cries of playing on a proper football pitch were answered yesterday, and his team didn’t disappoint as they took arch rivals Atraco through a footballing lesson with a 3-1 win at Amahoro Stadium.

The veteran Dutchman has been a major critic of the league stadiums saying that they hinder his style of play.  

The Nine-time league champions, APR earned a much needed victory over defending champions in yesterday’s national league fixture to got top of the league for the first time this season, Atraco trails the military side by two points.

The rout, took APR to 17 points as Atraco stay on 15 points. 
Goals from skipper Mbuyu Twite (56), Jouolu Bokungu (76) and Haruna Niyonzima (80) sank Atraco who only managed to pull a late minute superb consolation goal through Ugandan import Johnson Bagoole.

Atraco which denied the military side possession in the first half returned to the second half on a low note conceding the first goal through Mbuyu’s header from a well taken Fuadi Ndikumana free-kick.

After Atraco custodian Jean Luc Ndayishimiye suffered a chin injury on the 75th minute of the game, Atraco’s woes continued as substitute Charles Hakizimana failed to impede strikes from Bokungu and Haruna which partly should be blamed on poor defending.

Coach Rene Feller had a reason to smile as his players feasted on their arch rivals on a standard and quality stadium. The Dutch Coach had always put blame on the poor stadiums in the country and this jeopardized his winning campaign in the past fixtures, a feat which saw him win four fixtures and drawn two this season.

On other side, Coach Sam Timbe could not believe that his side could easily lose to the military side in such an astonishing way.

The two- time Cecafa Club champion who never sat for ninety minutes on the technical bench suffered from the blunt striking partnership of Andre and Jean Lomami respectively. Even his substitute Kalisa Kase failed to make an impact forcing Bagoole to go up front.

The Uganda Cranes star’s strike, 20 meters outside the area should be a contender for the goal of the season. Elsewhere, Rayon Sport hammered relegation battling La Jeunesse 4-1 at Mironko stadium on Tuesday.

Goals from Emma Kasongo, Theoneste Muhayimana and a brace from Yusuf Ndayishimiye earned Rayon Sport maximum points on the day.

Robert Ngunga scored  Jeunesse’s  consolation goal.
Amagaju held SC Kiyovu to a goalless draw at Shorongyi grounds while Police played to 2-all draw away to Mukura in Huye.

AS Kigali defeated Marines 2-1 at Camp Kigali while Kibuye pinned visitors Electrogaz to 3-2 at Gatwaro stadium.
