As part of the preparations for the upcoming FIBA African Zone V Championship due next week in Egypt, Rwanda men’s senior basketball team will this evening take on a select team of players from all league sides.

The game is scheduled to kicks-off at 6PM at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

This is a build up  game for the national team currently in residential camp at Golden Tulip Hotel in Bugesera District a head of the regional competition slated for March 12-18 in Cairo, the Egyptian capital.

The clash against the select team follows Sunday’s warm up game against league debutants Rwanda Energy Group (REG) which the national team easily won 87-63.

The national team won the first three quarters 22-14, 29-20 and 27-17 respectively while REG took a 12-9 fourth quarter consolation.

The 17-man national squad in camp boasts a couple of foreign-based players Bradley Cameron from the United States who joined the camp last Thursday and another US-born Wilson Kenny Gasana who plays in Morocco,

This year’s regional competition will attract a total of nine countries from Eastern Africa.

Should Rwanda reach the final, they will qualify for the African Basketball Championship to be held in August this year in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.
