Women volleyball league defending champions Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) saw their three-match unbeaten run come to an end at the hands of Rwamagana-based Groupe Scholaire St. Aloys who stunned them 3-2 in a match played on Sunday at Amahoro indoor stadium.

Women volleyball league defending champions Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) saw their three-match unbeaten run come to an end at the hands of Rwamagana-based Groupe Scholaire St. Aloys who stunned them 3-2 in a match played on Sunday at Amahoro indoor stadium.
St Aloys won the first set 25-23, before RRA made a comeback winning the second and third sets 19-25 and 16-25.
However, a determined St. Aloys side took the remaining two sets at 25-21 and 16-14, handing RRA their first defeat this season.
However, RRA managed to bounce back from this defeat by winning their second game of the day against archrivals and former defending champions APR 3-0 (25-17, 25-18 and 25-21).
In other games, Ruhango beat IPRC Kigali 3-0 (25-17, 25-18 and 25-21) while IPRC Kigali beat St Joseph 3-0 (25-18, 26-24 and 25-22).
RRA is leading the table with 13 points while APR is in second place with 12 points with St Aloys in third place with 9 points.
Fourth placed Ruhango has 8 points while IPRC Kigali has three points in fifth place with St. Joseph at the bottom without point.
Meanwhile in the men category, Rwanda Energy group (REG) beat Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, and 25-12) before losing to Kirehe 3-2 (21-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-23 and 15-12) which went on to beat KVC 3-0 (25-13, 25-16 and 25-13).
Gisagara is leading the table with 28 points after 12 games with Kirehe in second place with 25 points, IPRC-South dropped to third place with 24 points.
REG is in the fourth position with 22 points, followed by APR with 19 points, UNIK stands in the sixth place with 16 points while UTB and KVC are bottom with 12 points and 2 respectively.
