It was an evening of glitz and glamour as gospel music lovers converged at Ubumwe Grand Hotel in Kigali, on Sunday, for an evening of praise and worship led by top female gospel artistes in the country. The venue was great for the guests – the stage was well lit, sound was perfect, and the artistes impressed.
The show started at 6p.m with performances from Queens, a local girl band, which mesmerised the crowd with amazing praise and worship tunes. The group belted out songs like Singize and Jehovah is Your Name, just to mention but a few.
The host, Pastor Clarrisse Karangwa of Batsinda Cornerstone, later introduced the main performing group , All In One Gospel Ladies, onto the stage, as she reminded the audience of the main purpose of the show: "We have been at concerts where we have gone as fans for these artistes but we, together with them, are here to be fans of Jesus.”
All In One Gospel Ladies consists of gospel singers Pastor Jackie Mugabo, Diana Kamugisha, Pastor Rose Ngabo, Tonzi, Phanny Wibabara, Gaby Kamanzi, Aline Gahongayire, Rachel Rwibasira, Assumpta, Kareen, and Alice Big Tony.
The group started off with inspiring songs, performing their own compositions and hits by other musicians.
Their incredible vocals rocked the venue, but it was their interaction with the audience that helped elevate the concert beyond just performances.
The excitement of the night was clearly evident in the eyes of the performers, who delivered their best to the satisfaction of the audience.
All In One Gospel Ladies impressed with their Ibintu byose biceceke, Urukundo ruhebuje, Sijja muvaako, I love the way, Uyu mugabo ndamwemera, and This is my time tracks. The concert attracted revellers of all walks of life. The concert also featured performances by Aline Gahongaire, who delivered an energetic performance— performing her hit, Blessed Assurance. She captivated the crowd with energy and passion as she delivered probably the most outstanding performance of the night as she hit high notes that got the fans hooked.
Rose Ngabo’s tecno track Nzahora mpimbaza Uwiteka was also a heavy hit on the night, as people got to their feet and sang along.
Poet Brenda Indekwe recited a poem about Unity in the church and received applauses from the crowd.
It was a stunning concert and the songs were delivered with power and passion.
All In One Gospel Ladies wrapped up the concert with a gospel video screening and releasing their 10 song mixtape. They managed to sell a number of CDs at the event.
