Patriots face IPRC-South in hoops league

National basketball league reigning champions Patriots will face a serious test when they host IPRC-South on Saturday evening at Amahoro Indoor Stadium, starting at 6pm.

National basketball league reigning champions Patriots will face a serious test when they host IPRC-South on Saturday evening at Amahoro Indoor Stadium, starting at 6pm.

The game will pit last year’s regular season league champions, Patriots against playoffs winners, IPRC- South.

Patriots will be looking to retain the top spot from Rwanda Energy Group (REG) while Charles Mushumba’s 6th placed IPRC- South need a win to close the gap on the top teams.

Going into today’s game, Henry Mwinuka’s Patriots are in second place with 15 points with a 7:1 win ratio while Huye-based IPRC-South have 13 points with a 5:3 win ratio.

Elsewhere today, two struggling sides 30-Plus and United Generation Basketball Club (UGB) will lock horns at 2pm, at the same venue. UGB will be seeking for their third league win of the season while the former are eying only their second win.

In the women’s league, the 2015 champions APR will be up against IPRC-South on Saturday, while defending champions Ubumwe will entertain UR- Huye on Sunday. Both games will be played at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
