IPRC-South defeat UNIK to extend lead in V-ball league

IPRC South has continued to impress in the national Volleyball League after beating defending Champions, University of Kibungo (UNIK) on Sunday, in match played in Huye to extend lead on top the league table.

IPRC South has continued to impress in the national Volleyball League after beating defending Champions, University of Kibungo (UNIK) on Sunday, in match played in Huye to extend lead on top the league table.

The league title hopefuls IPRC-South defeated defending UNIK in three straight sets (25-20, 25-18 and 26-24) to reach 20 points in nine games they have played, three points ahead of second placed Gisagara Volleyball club.

In other matches University of Tourism and Business studies (UTB) beat Kigali Volleyball Club 3-1; (25-23, 20-25, 25-19 and 25-13) before they (UTB) were beaten by APR  3-1; (30-28, 25-18, 21-25 and 25-19) in matches played at Rafiki ground in Nyamirambo.

In women league, St Aloys Rwamagana beat IPRC South 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-18), before losing to former champions APR, 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-23 and 26-24) while APR again defeated IPRC Kigali 3-0 (25-20, 25-9, 25-20) in matches played in Rwamagana.

On Saturday, Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) beat Ruhango High School 3-1 (25-15, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-12) and they went on to defeat St Joseph 3-0, (25-13, 25-20 and 25-17) while Ruhango beat St Joseph 3-0  (25-14, 25-21 and 25-21).

Gisagara beat Kirehe 3-2 (25-21, 25-21, 25-17 28-26 and 15-8), IPRC South is leading the table with 19 points after seven games while Gisagara followed with 17 points after six games.

RRA and APR are joint top each with six points.
