The case of Sgt Innocent Gatete accused of murder has been postponed to December 3, 2008 at High court.

Sgt. Gatete, a former escort of Internal Security Minister, Fazil Musa Harerimana, shot Lt François d’Assise Munyemana who later died, late September.

According to Grace Kabanyana, the deceased’s wife, the case was postponed due to the absence of the judge.

On October 24, 2008, the Prosecutor appealed for the court to sentence the accused to life imprisonment. The verdict was supposed to be heard last Friday.

According to prosecution, Sgt. Gatete committed the crime when not on duty although he was putting on a national police uniform.
