Little wonder the Sage of Africa (oh yes Paul Kagame rightly deserves all applause) is forever insistent on the economic side of life. Goes back to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

While we are still grappling with the bottom two rungs of that pyramid (physiological and safety needs) we can’t thrust our minds upon the top two: psychological (belongings, friendship, family, esteem) and self-fulfillment (morality, creative thinking and problem solving).

And regrettably the stairway up this pyramid is vested in the economics of the day.

So, yes, work hard until it pains, lest it pain into perpetuity due to lack of hard work. Ggwanga Mujje
