Police FC have been dealt a major blow after it came to light that their skipper Fabrice Twagizimana could be out for the rest of the season after the player suffered a fracture on his left clavicle during a league match against Espoir, last weekend.

The clavicle or collarbone is a long bone that serves as a strut between the shoulder blade and the sternum or breastbone.

Twagizimana had surgery last week at King Faisal Hospital, but head coach Innocent Seninga fears his influential player could miss the remainder of the campaign.

"Twagizimana is such a special player for this club and it’s disappointing that he will be out for long period, it is a big blow, but we’ll get by it, he is receiving treatment after undergoing surgery last week,” he revealed.

Seninga expressed worry that Twagizimana is unlikely to be able to play again this season adding that "The injury is devastating according to the report from the doctors.”

Twagizimana picked the injury in the 90th minute of the game when the 25-year-headed a ball from a corner kick but lost balance and went down on his shoulder.

He was rushed to Kanombe Military hospital before being transferred to King Faisal where he underwent the operation.

The skipper leaves a huge hole in Police central defence especially given that the club just lost Gabriel Mugabo and Hertier Turatsinze due to indiscipline. Police FC are third in the table with 28 points out of 14 games.
