Defending champions University of Kibungo (UNIK) will host their rivals and last season’s first runners-up APR and Kirehe in round four of the national volleyball league on Saturday in Ngoma District.
UNIK head coach Dominique Ntawangundi is confident his team will win both matches to stay in title race. UNIK are currently in third place with 10 points, one behind joint leaders IPRC-South and Gisagara.
Former champions APR are in sixth position with seven points, while Kirehe are fourth with 8 points.
"We need to give our best in both matches and because we want to defend our title, this team is hungry for more success and we will go into the matches with a purpose of winning,” said Ntawangundi.
His APR counterpart, Sammy Mulinge said that, "We will continue to work hard and try to win the two games.”
In Huye, surprise table leaders IPRC-South will play against second-placed Gisagara as well as Kigali Volleyball Club, who are bottom with two points.
Meanwhile, at Amahoro Indoor Stadium, Rwanda Energy Group (REG), who are in fifth place with eight points, will be up against fellow league debutants University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB), who are second from bottom with six points.
