National volleyball league defending champions University of Kibungo (UNIK) will host the third round of matches today in Ngoma district, while the other games will be played in Kirehe and Huye respectively.
The league kicked off last month and two rounds have been played so far. Surprisingly, IPRC South and newly created Gisagara lead the table with 8 points, followed by former champions APR in third place with seven points.
In Ngoma, UNIK, who are in sixth place with five points, will battle against Gisagara and University of Tourism and Business (UTB), who fifth place with five points.
Gisagara head coach Eric Gakwaya said: "Our aim is to win the two games against UNIK and UTB to stay on top. We know it is going to be hard especially against UNIK because they are the champions and want to close the gap on us.”
Table leaders IPRC South will host former league champions and third-placed APR volleyball club in Huye district
In other matches, Rwanda Energy Group Volleyball Club, another new league entrant will visit seventh-placed Kirehe, who have two points.
