Following a successful 2016 season, Telugu Royals cricket club have set targets for the 2017 season. The season is scheduled to get underway on January 24, with the V.R Naidu Family T20 tournament.

Their targets include; consolidating their dominancy through team spirit, which they say was a key tool to their excellent performance last season.

Telugu Royals won two titles which include UAE Exchange and 50 overs Premier League as well as the Computer Point Twenty20 tournament and they were voted Team of the Year.

The team’s coach K.P Rao said, "We need to continue with that winning trend, Challengers have done it over the years and it’s our time now to do it, we have the foundation to build on.”

"Cricket in Rwanda is growing at high speed and many talents are coming up, which means that the game has become more competitive than it was a few years ago, so to keep the standard, you need to double your effort,” he stated.

Telugu Royals have already entered the camp in preparation for 2017 season.
