The national basketball governing body, Ferwaba Disciplinary Committee is set to convene at the end of this month to make its ruling over Marine’s misdemeanor during this year’s play offs final.

Ferwaba president Fidele Rutagarama told Times Sport yesterday that what Marine did was unacceptable and intolerable.

"At the moment, the rules and regulations that govern the league do not have any penalties for this kind of act but we still have to sit and discuss the issue at length,” Rutagarama said.

Reiterating to reports that the defending champions forfeited the final because they wanted the series to be held in their home town (Gisenyi), Rutagarama also said, "During the federation’s AGM, it was agreed that the finals would be played at the national stadium (Amahoro) so that is definitely not an excuse.”

APR was awarded default points last Saturday in what was supposed to be the first of five play off final series. Consequently, Cliff Owuor’s team was awarded the league title after Ferwaba disqualified the defending champions.

Rusizi could also face a penalty for forfeiting their best of three play offs semi-final against APR’s Indomitable Lions.
