Rwanda international Hakim Sahabo was, for the first time, in action for the first team of Standard Liege during the club's 3-3 thrilling draw against German giants Borussia Dortmund in mid-season friendly game held at the Banus Football Centre on Tuesday, January 9.
Sahabo, 18, had an impressive first round of the season with Liege second team where he provided two assists in 14 Challenger Prol League games and his current form has attracted new senior team coach Ivan Leko who selected him in the squad that traveled to Malaga, Spain, for the mid-season training camp.
The youngster had 60 minutes of action against Dortmund and he put up a decent outing before being replaced by Noah Mawete.
He may officially be drafted into the senior team as a squad member for the second round where he can deputize in the offensive midfield role.
