Ranging from coats and blazers to vests, dusters will add an edge to your wardrobe. They are versatile and can be worn with pants, shorts, skirts and dresses.

According to Joy Uwimana, the owner of Joy Little Boutique at Kigali City Market, going for lengthy ones is ideal, whether it is a coat, vest or blazer.

"There are many ways of wearing these pieces. You can opt for brighter colours depending on what you are wearing inside.

"For a sophisticated look, choose a duster that will make you stand out. For instance, opt for a bright coloured duster over a dull outfit,” she says.

Also, when worn on dresses, jumpsuits or pants, sleeveless dusters come out better as compared to when worn alone. Again, the long ones are ideal.

"Wearing plain jeans and a top is boring; add a sleeveless duster,” she says.

Uwimana adds; "There is also another way to look stylish with these pieces, just add a duster blazer to your vest or cropped top with a pair of heels or sneakers. Accessorize it with chunky jewellery or whatever makes you comfortable.”

The sleeveless coat can be worn during any time of the day.
