Last year’s runners up Primero Agosto of Angola and Nigeria’s First Bank have vowed to win the 14th FIBA Africa women Club Championships that threw off yesterday in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi.

According to the Fiba-Africa website, after the teams’ first training sessions at Kenya’s Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium on Tuesday, the two coaches Higim Garcia (Primero de Agosto) and Adewumnmi Aderemi (Union Bank) said that they were not in Kenya to play second fiddle to anyone.

"We are here to win the championships. Everything so far has been good; we have no complaints at all. We are all set and looking forward to the games,” said Garcia.
