The Rwandan Ambassador to Israel, Col Joseph Rutabana, yesterday presented his letters of credence to the President of Cyprus, Nico Anastasiades, beginning his official diplomatic duties in the Mediterranean Island nation.
According to a statement, Rutabana reiterated the Government of Rwanda’s willingness to reinforce diplomatic relations with Cyprus.
"The envoy proposed strong partnership between the two countries in the fields of tertiary education, agriculture, energy, tourism, mining, infrastructure development, ICT and healthcare,” reads the statement.
Anastasiades congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in advancing Cyprus-Rwanda relations.
The President particularly pointed out that Cyprus and Rwanda share friendly bilateral relations and enjoy active working cooperation in many international fora, such as the United Nations and the Commonwealth.
"He expressed his Government’s readiness to work towards the strengthening of bilateral relations, as well as explore new areas of cooperation,” adds the statement.
