Editor, RE: "New hi-tech road traffic system is a milestone” (The New Times, December 19).

It is true that Rwanda National Police (RNP) has realized overwhelming progress especially in the last 7 years—ranging from skills development, personnel management and welfare, infrastructure development and technology advancements.

An example is the recently launched "Driving License and Vehicle Safety Information Management System”, "the Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)” system and a database that connects other players, including Rwanda Revenue Authority, the National Identification Agency and telecom companies that send instant messages among other systems.

Thumbs up to the Police leadership! Dokta *************************** You are right but this shouldn’t be of a surprise to you as our visionary leadership tirelessly preaches us how we have to move with the fast changing world of technology.

So, I am pretty much sure Rwanda National Police is no exception especially when we witness its leadership at the radar of keeping Rwandans safe.

We have no doubt that the high tech road traffic system will help reduce on accidents that have been taking people’s lives from time to time.

Let’s appreciate again the work being done by RNP in protecting people’s lives. Long live Rwanda, long live RNP. Nesta *************************** I am personally speechless but at the same time not surprised by the overwhelming achievements by the Rwanda National Police. I want to gladly thank the leadership of Rwanda National Police for the massive work they are doing towards the development and sustainability of our beautiful country, and I know that the sky is the only limit.
