IHF Africa Zone 5B: Rwanda U-20 team play Burundi for a final spot

Rwanda U-20 men’s handball team will today play Burundi in the semi-finals of the ongoing International Handball Federation (IHF) Africa Zone 5B Challenge tournament in Mukono, Uganda after finishing on top of Group A.

Rwanda U-20 men’s handball team will today play Burundi in the semi-finals of the ongoing International Handball Federation (IHF) Africa Zone 5B Challenge tournament in Mukono, Uganda after finishing on top of Group A.

Rwanda team which had earlier (Sunday) registered a perfect start defeating South Sudan in their Group B opener 44-30 went ahead to stun hosts and defending champions Uganda on Monday by 44-29 goals to finish on top of their  group with Uganda in  second place.

Jean Paul Muhawenayo was the star of the day netting a game-high 13 goals to lead his team to victory.

In another game, yesterday, Kenya defeated Tanzania to 33-24 to finish top of group A while Burundi finished in second place.

Rwanda play Burundi at 2pm for a final slot while Kenya will take on Uganda at 1pm.

Rwanda are seeking to win their first ever regional title since  2009 when they started to compete at the biennial tournament.
