Djuma Masudi, the Rayon Sport head coach has called for a quick response from his players to return to winning ways after being held to a frustrating 1-all draw by Mukura Victory Sports on Friday at Huye stadium.

It was the second draw for the 2013 league champions, who have not lost a game this season.

Godfroid Okoko’s Mukura took the lead after six minutes through Christopher Ndayishimiye’s penalty kick after Fiston Munezero fouled Pastore Kevin in the forbidden area.

But Masudi’s men fought back and preserved their unbeaten streak when Malian forward Moussa Camara got the equalizer with a header on the stroke of half time.

The draw leaves Rayon Sports in a precautious position with 23 points while Mukura VS remained in 11th position with nine points after nine matches.

Nonetheless, Masudi is confident his team will return to winning ways in the next match when they host Musanze FC on Saturday at Kigali Regional Stadium.

"It was not a result we wanted, but at least we remain unbeaten. To get a point here is a good result; we now have to turn focus to the next game. The players know we need a quick reaction to today’s result,” Masudi told Times Sport. On the other hand, Okoko hailed his players for the determination they displayed in getting a point against the on-form league leaders.

The Burundian tactician noted that, "Rayon Sports are a very strong team, but we wanted points to improve our position in the table standing and I am grateful to my players for a determined display.”
