Mukura Victory Sports will be seeking to return to winning ways and to stop Rayon Sports unbeaten run when the two sides clash in the national league on today at Huye Stadium.

Coach Godfroid Okoko’s side will be keen to bounce back from last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Marines, which saw the Huye-based outfit drop to 11th position on the table with 8 points from two wins, two draws and three losses.

However, they will be up against a seemingly unstoppable side, which has won seven and drawn one of their eight league matches. Rayon Sports are fresh from a resounding 5-2 win against lowly Gicumbi FC, last weekend.

"It will be tough but the objective is to try and get three points against Rayon Sports. We will go into the game looking for nothing less than a win. I believe we can achieve our target and move up on the table,” Okoko said on Thursday.

The Burundian tactician added that, "We have not collected enough points in the last games, which makes Friday’s game a must-win for us.”

However, his counterpart, Djuma Masudi of Rayon Sports believes his side is capable of beating Mukura to continue their near-perfect run—a win today for the 2013 league champions will increase the gap between them and second-placed APR FC to five points.

Masudi said, "We need to win the game and widen a little bit the gap between us and the teams below on the table. It will be a difficult match because Mukura will be looking to bounce back, so we have to be careful.”

"We have to be ready for every game ahead of us. Mukura is one of the good teams in the league with an experienced coach, so we have to be careful and avoid any complacency,” the ex-Burundi international acknowledged.

"Our target is to win the league title and if you want to make it happen, you need to win more games than your rivals and that is what we will try to do this season. We have to be well prepared for any challenge,” he added.

Masudi’s side have not lost a single game this season after winning seven games and drawing one.

The league leaders will be looking to Burundian internationals Shassir Nahimana (6) and Pierrot Kwizera (5), who have netted 11 league goals between them, to continue their scoring form.
