APR FC 2-0 Pepiniere

APR coach Jimmy Mulisa has said he will keep the pressure on Rayon Sports after his side closed the gap on the table leaders from eight to just two points.

This followed a comfortable 2-0 win over bottom side Pepiniere in a league match played on Wednesday at Kigali Regional Stadium.

First half goals from youngster Innocent Nshuti, 16, and centre back Herve Rugwiro secured maximum points for the military side, which has won six and drawn two of their league matches played so far.

APR will play against SC Kiyovu on Sunday at Kigali Regional Stadium and Mulisa is hoping his team will continue the winning spirit.

The former Sunrise technical director said, "We have to take it match per match. My players know what our targets are for the season, and among them is to win every single game. It’s not easy, but we will try to get as many points on board as possible.”

He added: "We have done well so far but we also have to keep in mind that every game we play is equally important and it’s very important for us to win and keep pressure on Rayon Sports.”

The army side consolidated the second position with 20 points, two behind Rayon Sports and three better than third-placed Police FC.

Pepiniere continue to struggle to adapt to top flight league football as they have only managed a point in eight matches following their promotion from second division league last season.
