The International Migrants Day will be marked with a concert on Saturday at Rwanda Revenue Authority Headquarters, in Kimihurura.
The event is being organised by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in partnership with Impact Hub Kigali.
Under the theme, "I am Kigali Festival,” the event will pay tribute to the unique contribution of migrants to societies.
Catherine Northing, the IOM Chief of Mission, urged the international community living in Rwanda to turn up for the free concert.
"We want this festival to showcase the positive effects of migration on culture, music and diversity in society. That is why we have invited performers from several countries and cultural backgrounds to show the magic that happens.
The event will feature performances from local artistes such as Urban Boys, Moutcho, Mukanyaga, Eric One Key, Makumbi Sounds and Deo Munyakazi— who will showcase different cultural diversities, like Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage. Other entertainers will include Tito Al’s trio featuring Prime, Andy Bumuntu and Amizero Compagnie.
