The Invention Fashion show that took place over the weekend was a flop. Those who turned up at the poorly attended show left unhappy.

The much-anticipated event started nearly four hours late at Sports View Hotel in Kigali.

The event organiser Elyse Furaha said the reason for the poor turn up was poor publicity, adding that some designers also pulled out at the last minute, thus delaying the show to begin.

A handful of about 20 models took to the catwalk runway, showcasing the creations for both male and female outfits by the few designers who took part in the show.

Despite glitches during the Invention Fashion event, DJ Berto and OZ dance group, kept the crowd entertained the whole time, and played a variety of music.

Shortly, the first designer Ngirankugire Remmy of Remmy Fashions took to the stage, presenting his latest collection. The runway show also featured kitenge patterns from Elye Furaha.

Among the guests were (L-R) Gaston Niyonzima, Liesbeth Verhelst and John Bunyeshuri, CEO of Kigali Fashion Week.

Other brands included Berwa Fashion House and Planet Fashion Rwanda. Aspiring fashion designer Jean de Dieu Mirindi also displayed his creations before the show ended at 10p.m.
