RE: "Women urged to act as catalysts of development” (The New Times, December 7).

Agaseke, a handcraft woman empowerment project, is a glowing example of Made-in-Rwanda brands.

This initiative, involving almost 2,000 women, and covering three districts—Nyarugenge, Gasabo and Kicukiro—has enabled vulnerable individuals to find a rightful place in society.

Fatou Aminata Lo, and UN Women Representative in Rwanda, together with Judith Murekatete, the president of Agaseke, should be commended for their great work geared towards uplifting and empowering women.

Co-incidentally, it was just recently when UN Women and the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Mumbai to collaborate with each other.

We would be very pleased to support Agaseke project so as to enhance the reach and increase the visibility of Made-in-Rwanda products here in India.
