Etincelles FC forward Gentil Salita Kambale is keen on returning to the capital Kigali to play for one of his former clubs- Rayon Sports or AS Kigali.
Speaking to Times Sport, Kambale, revealed that, "I am working hard to return to Kigali or move to any foreign club that is ready to sign me during the January transfer window. Etincelles is a good team but I need a team that is ready to win trophies.”
The DR Congo-born striker, who has one year left on his contract, is considering his options and he is not ready to commit his future to the Rubavu-based side and says he strongly believes he has unfinished business at Rayon Sports.
However, Etincelles FC head coach Emmanuel Ruremesha admits he still needs the player at least up to the end of the season. "He is an important player for us and our captain but he has ambition and if he decides to leave at the appropriate time, no one can stop him.”
"Nonetheless, both parties need to sit and discuss the player’s future at the club. As a player he is free to make his personal choice, either to stay or move on,” noted Ruremesha, whose team is currently fourth in the league with 12 points, seven behind leaders Rayon Sports.
Kambale is currently joint league top scorer with six goals along with Police FC striker Danny Usengimana. In 2013, Kambale won the league title with Rayon Sports under French coach Didier Gomes da Rosa.
During the 2014/2015 season, the veteran forward signed for Musanze in a two-year deal but was released because of FERWAFA rule that limits the number of foreign players that start for any league team to three. Later, he joined Etincelles for one year-contract until end of the season.
