Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has started the selection of the national U-15 girl’s national team in Rubavu.

Two hundred girls picked across the country converged in Rubavu District over the weekend ready for the exercise.

Each Province is represented by 50 girls picked from a three-week competition, which was staged last month as a follow-up to the Live Your Goals Festival held in September, 2016. The competition attracted 52 youth teams.

Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) President Vincent Nzamwita launched the selection process on Monday in Rubavu District at Stade Umuganda.

Nzamwita encouraged the young girls to work hard and ensure they pass the trials to be in the next U-15 national team.

FERWAFA urges the youth to work hard such that they impress to be picked in the national team where they will be fully supported to ensure their dream of playing professional football is realized.

The selection process which will climax on Thursday will see 30 best players picked to form the National U-15 girls football team.

The selected team will then be assembled together in WDA’s Football School of Excellence which will be operational from January 2017 in Huye District.

The initiative inspires girls to achieve their goals in football through perseverance, fair play and teamwork.

FIFA provides support to member associations implementing the campaign and festivals.
