Police in the City of Kigali have recovered spare parts of the vehicle valued at Rwf24 million, which were stolen from stores of a local construction company – NPD-COTRACO – more than a month ago.

Police in the City of Kigali have recovered spare parts of the vehicle valued at Rwf24 million, which were stolen from stores of a local construction company – NPD-COTRACO – more than a month ago. Police spokesperson for the City of Kigali, Supt. Emmanuel Hitayezu, said that the equipments were recovered from a residential house in Nyakabanda Sector of Nyarugenge District on Saturday. He also said that three prime suspects, all employees of COTRACO, have also been taken into custody. The spare parts of Actros Benz, went missing from NPD-COTRACO warehouse in the night of November 1. "Since the day of the alleged theft when the management of COTRACO filed a theft case, police has been conducting investigations until last Saturday when the officers following on a lead, stormed a house in Nyakabanda where all the missing spare-parts were recovered,” "Those arrested in connection with the theft include a security guard. Police is also still searching for the owner of the house identified as Stella Ndayizeye, where the equipments were recovered, who has since gone into hiding. But there are other three people implicated in this whole theft, who are being investigated,” Supt. Hitayezu disclosed. He identified those already in custody as Ramazan Ntagara, Ali Rwaka Seminega and Bonaventure Kanobana. He hastened to add that police are still carrying out investigation to establish whether there are other people involved in the crime. "There are leads that show the likely involvement of other people, but investigations will unearth the whole racket for prosecution.”
