Bank of Kigali in partnership with Star Times Media and Konka Electronics has launched ‘an exciting’ joint Christmas promotion in which Rwandans will get interest-free loans to purchase brand new home appliances including 40-inch Smart-TVs, Fridges and Gas cookers.
The promotion was officially unveiled on Friday afternoon after the signing of Memorandum of Understanding documents between the Bank, Star Times and Konka, respectively. Targeting all Rwandans with a stable monthly income, the campaign will climax at the end of the first week of January 2017.
"We are excited to launch this promotion which will give our people an opportunity to give their living rooms a new look as families get together to enjoy the festive season,” said Rose Ngabire, Bank of Kigali’s Head of Consumer Banking and Product Development.
Speaking on the same occasion, Star Times Principal, Jess Jing revealed that the promotion will enable their respective customers to acquire 32 and 40-inch ultra-modern Smart TVs at not only below the market price but also with interest-free loans from Bank of Kigali.
"At just Rwf 299, 000, our customers will own a 40-inch ultra-modern TV set which comes with 12 months’ guarantee we are offering the best product at unbelievable prices so we urge all our customers to rush and use the chance while it lasts,” said Star Times Jess Jing.
Konka Managing Director Charles Gasana also speaking at the same event told the media that the promotion is an opportunity for Rwandans to own the things they have always dreamt to have in their living rooms.
"We are known as a one stop-center for all electronic home appliances. With this Bank of Kigali partnership, our customers should just walk into any of our stores in Rwanda, make any choice ranging from fridges to gas cookers, the possibilities are unlimited,” said Gasana.
Asked whether the bank is well prepared to handle the anticipated huge traffic of interested customers, Ngabire said given the short nature of the promotion, they have devised a mechanism that will ensure a 24-hr turn-around time.
"We have dedicated staff to ensure quick process turnaround of 24hrs for existing customers and at least 48 hours for new customers. Once an item is identified in a shop, customers will then present a filled application form, an identity card and a pro-forma invoice, to access credit,” said Ngabire.
