Challengers Cricket Club all round batsman Evode Mutuyimana has urged his teammates to aim retaining this year’s UAX Exchange and 50 Over’s premier league title knocking out Telegu Royals in this weekend’s semi-final crush.
Challengers will face off with one of the most experienced sides in Rwandan cricket Telugu Royals in the semi-final in the on-going UAE Exchange and 50 over’s premier league at kicukiro cricket ground on Sunday.
Mutuyimana, who was at his best when his team knocked out Rightguard in the tournament two weeks ago, said he is ready to reproduce the same performance he show cased in the last game they played where he singlehandedly made 45 runs in 39 balls, helping his side to a big margin win of 111 runs in the game against Rightguard.
"We have to win this tournament again, we have played so far so well and we have won all our games against Rightguard and Indorwa in group stages” he said, adding that they can’t afford to lose any game.
He further noted: "We will continue to play with passion and enthusiasm, our players truly love the game and what makes us happy is when we play according to our game plan.”
Challengers have won this tournament twice since it was introduced in 2013 while Rightguard have only won it once in 2014.
