Amagaju head coach Pablo Nduwimana has urged his players to maintain the momentum after ending a dismal run with  their first win of the season away to Marines on Saturday.

The Nyamagabe-based side, that had lost four games and drawn one, grabbed their first three points of the season after beating Marine FC 1-0 at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu.

Burundian striker Hussein ‘Tchabalala’ Shaban scored the lone goal in the dying  minutes to give Nduwimana’s side the much needed win, and as a result improved  two places on the table to 13th position with 4 points.

"We are delighted to get our first win of the season. The players gave their best to get this win. I am looking forward to the next matches because we want to secure more wins to save our season, our aim is to stay in the league and we are going to fight until the end of the season,” Nduwimana explained.

On the other hand, relegation threatened Marines that have lost five games and drawn one in six games played, are on bottom of the table. However head coach Abdul Kalim ‘Coka’ Nduhirabandi is optimistic his side will turn things around.

"We have been struggling this season, but I believe that we will turn things around and win more games,” Nduhirabandi said.
