The country’s top musicians have dedicated a song to Rose Kabuye.
The track Tuzatsinda which means ‘we shall win’ demonstrates their moral support to Kabuye, who was recently arrested in Germany and will be tried in France.
The song’s lyrics are in Kinyarwanda, English, German, French and Swahili.
"Europeans are very good at turning shame into unreasonable anger and arrogance. Kabuye’s arrest is painful to us as musicians. It was important for us to contribute in ways we can,” Sgt Robert Kabera explained why artistes composed the song.
He addressed journalists last Tuesday on behalf of other musicians, ahead of the song’s release.
Ntore Masamba, Miss Jojo, Channel, Ben Ngabo Petit, Natty Dread are some of the musicians who composed the song.
"We want to show our disapproval of the people that oppose Rwanda’s destiny and those that want to change history to suit them especially France and Germany,” said the renowned crooner.
The song Tuzatsinda urges Rwandans of all creeds to unite and assure Kabuye of their support.
It also encourages the listener to be strong because Rwanda has faced many challenges in the past and has overcome them.
"We are winners and we are behind you Kabuye even if our enemies are so big. Like in the bible-where a stone was rejected but later became the chief cornerstone,-we will be victors,” go the lyrics of the song.
