Police FC talisman Muhadjiri Hakizimana and APR FC's mercurial striker Victor Mbaoma are front runners for the Primus National League player of the month award for December 2023.
Hakizimana had an outstanding outing in December netting five goals in four games. He scored a brace against Marines on December 2 and he was again on target in club’s 4-2 defeat to Bugesera on December 5. The forward also hit a double as the law enforcers thrashed Musanze 3-0 on December 12.
Mbaoma, on the other hand, banged in four goals in four games in December 2023 for APR. He drew blank in the goalless draw with Gasogi and the 1-1 draw with Kiyovu but netted a brace in APR’s 4-1 win over Gorilla on December 8 and another brace in club’s 3-1 victory over Amagaju at Huye on December 11 respectively.
Hakizimana and Mbaoma are in contention alongside Heritier Luvumbu of Rayon Sports and Abedi Bigirimana also of Police FC for the prestigious award which will be presented on January 16.
