After guiding Charity Cricket Club to this year’s UAE Exchange and 50 over’s premier league finals, club captain Claudine Uwase has vowed that her team will go on to retain the trophy they have won twice since its establishment in 2013.
The defending champions qualified for the finals after winning all their games and will be waiting for the winner between White Clouds and Queens of Victory on Saturday to know who they will face in the final on a date yet to be communicated.
Speaking to Times sport, yesterday, after a training session at Kicukiro cricket ground, the Charity CC lead batter and team skipper said she is confident in the ability of her team to reproduce last year’s performance in this very tournament.
"We have been playing well and coordinating well, we hope to continue with that until the end of the tournament,” said Uwase.
She further noted that "Our secret is hard work and patience, whenever we step on the pitch, we always work as if it is our last day on the pitch.”
Charity Cricket Club have over the years dominated Rwandan women cricket, winning two UAE Exchange and 50 over’s premier league and two V.R NAIDU T20 tournaments.
