All is set for the forthcoming 20th African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) annual conference in Kigali, the organisers have said.
Speaking to journalists on Friday at the Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE) offices, chief executive officer Pierre-Celestin Rwabukumba affirmed that they are ready to host the conference slated for November 27-29. Rwabukumba said the conference offers an opportunity to demonstrate how much can be achieved through integration of regional securities markets.
He added it would be an avenue to learn from the more advanced stock market experts, especially for players in Rwanda’s nascent capital markets.
Participants will also explore business opportunities Rwanda has to offer and its tourism potential, he added.
RSE will also be celebrating its fifth anniversary since it was formed in 2011.
The theme for this year’s annual ASEA conference and general meeting is, "The Road to 2030: Making the African Capital Markets Relevant to the real economy”. "It will seek to address the issues facing our markets in order to make them more sustainably relevant for our economic development,” Rwabukumba said.
Over 300 experts and stakeholders from capital market firms, regulators, law firms and issuers, domestic, regional and international investors, rating agencies, portfolio and investment managers, government representatives, and technology providers are expected in the country for the flagship event at the Kigali Serena Hotel.
