Challengers cricket club all-rounder Evode Mutuyimana has expressed his determination to lead his side to victory over rivals Right Guards in the ongoing UAE Exchanged and 50-overs Premier League at Kicukiro cricket ground on Sunday.

Challengers have dominated Rwandan cricket over the years since it was established, and they hope to continue dominating it. The club have won the competition twice and seeking to retain for a second year in a row.

Right Guards have won it once and will go into Sunday’s game looking to win their first match in this year’s league having lost their opener against Indorwa Cricket Club.

Mutuyimana, who made 45 runs in 39 balls, helping his side to a 111 runs win over Indorwa, is determined to extend his good form as Challengers bid to qualify to the semi-finals from Group B.

"We are determined to win this league again, so far we have played one game and we won, and if we win on Sunday we will be through to the semi-finals,” said Mutuyimana.

The Rwanda international added that, "We will continue to play with passion and enthusiasm, our players love the game and we know what makes us all happy is when we play according to the game plan.”

Challengers have won this tournament twice since it was introduced in 2013 while their opponents, Right Guard won it once, in 2014.

Indorwa and Challengers are on top of the group with four points each while Right Guards are bottom without a point.
