The University of Kigali will today officially launch its School of Accountancy, a program that is designed to equip Rwandans with skills in accountancy. The launch ceremony will take place Friday evening at the Kigali Convention Center.

The University of Kigali will today officially launch its School of Accountancy, a program that is designed to equip Rwandans with skills in accountancy.

The launch ceremony will take place Friday evening at the Kigali Convention Center.

According to a statement released yesterday, the School, part of the other affiliated schools of the university, offers programs to students and officials from both private and public sector, enabling them to obtain various certifications indicative of valuable professional skills such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CIFA (Certified Investment Financial Analyst), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), and CAT (Certified Accounting Technician).

Participants at the launch will also learn more about the operations of the University’s center for Economic Governance and Leadership.

The next enrollment is already ongoing with examinations scheduled June 2017.

To accommodate employed students, the University has scheduled classes on Fridays: 5:30pm to 9:30pm, Saturday and Sunday from 8:30am to 6pm.

The University’s Centre for Economic Governance and Leadership (CEGL) specializes in training, capacity building and consulting.

It focuses on independent short term executive training programs mainly in the areas of cooperate governance, public financial management and leadership development.

It is designed to promote the highest standards of training in Rwanda and the region through building the capacity of executives, senior and middle level officials from public and private institutions.
