Sunrise FC coach Andrew Ibeh has admitted that the international break has given him the much-needed time to come up with a plan to dislodge Rayon Sports from top spot.

The top two sides come up against each in the national football league on Saturday at Nyagatare ground when the league returns after a two-week break.

Sunrise are second on the table tied on ten points with Rayon Sports, however Rayon has a better goal difference—eight against six for Sunrise after four rounds of matches.

The Nyagatare-based outfit dented their perfect start to the season when they were held to a 1-1 draw in their last outing against league debutants Pepiniere FC.

Ibeh explained that his team played well and created enough chances to beat Jean Baptiste Kayiranga’s struggling side, but were just unlucky

And now with their biggest test against Rayon Sports on the horizon, the Nigerian admitted he is spending longer hours preparing his team for a win.

"We need the three points,” Ibeh pointed out in an interview with Times Sport, adding that, "The team has a lot to learn if we are to perform better this season and it’s my responsibility as the coach.”

He revealed that, "I have to set the bar high, because the only way to finish in a better position or win a trophy is we have to work harder, nothing comes for free, we have to sweat to earn it. Rayon Sports are not easy opponents, they’re top of the table and will be hard to play but we have to be confident.”

The two teams met in the ‘AS Kigali Pre-Season Tourney’ and Rayon Sports thrashed Sunrise 4-0. Mali-born striker Moussa Camara scored a brace as Burundian international Pierrot Kwizera and Frank Lomami scored a piece each.
