After seing his side beat Morocco 2-1 on Sunday in a friendly match, Rwanda U20 acting head coach Vincent Mashami has called on the Rwandan football governing body to organise more matches for the team in a bid to give the players more exposure.

This was the second match the Junior Wasps played against the North African side, having lost the first game 2-0 on Thursday. The team is expected to return home today aboard a RwandAir flight.

Rwanda’s win came through goals from Vedaste Niyibizi and skipper Dominique Savio Nshuti in the 25th and 35th minutes, respectively.

"These games are good for our young players. It is good experience for them and also for self confidence but it has to be a continuous process because playing football is all about playing games,” said Mashami.

Mashami, who is also the head coach of league side Bugesera FC, added that, "We are however thankful to Minispoc (Ministry of Sports and Culture) and FERWAFA for giving the players such an opportunity. But it should not stop here, these players need to play more international games to gain experience.”

Morocco U20 Partners tournament was staged to give a platform to youngsters from Morocco FA partner federations to display their skills as part of the on-going youth development partnership that exists between the partner federations. However, Rwanda and hosts Morocco are the only nations that participated in the event following late withdrawals of Palestine, Cameroon and Burkina Faso.
