Tour du Rwanda: Valens Ndayisenga wins Stage Two, takes yellow jersey

Valens Ndayisenga has won Stage Two of the ongoing Tour du Rwanda. Stage Two covered a distance of 124.7 km. Kenyan Suleiman Kangangi came second while Joseph Areruya finished in third position.

Valens Ndayisenga has won Stage Two of the ongoing Tour du Rwanda. Stage Two covered a distance of 124.7 km. 

Kenyan Suleiman Kangangi came second while Joseph Areruya finished in third position. 

Ndayisenga’s triumph also earned him the yellow jersey, which his colleague Areruya had won on Monday during Stage One. 

The 23 year-old Ndayisenga rides for South African based Dimension Data and he won the tournament in 2014.

In Team Dimension Data, Ndayisenga rides alongside compatriot Bonaventure Uwizeyimana as well as the Eritrean trio Eyob Metkel, Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier and Junrey Navarra.

Last year, Ndayisenga, who had been rated among the favorites, failed to finish the race when he was ruled out of the competition after he was diagnosed with angina (chest pain) during the fifth stage from Muhanga to Rubavu (139.3km).
